Revive Your Authentic Self: From Shadow & Trauma into Somatic Freedom
Revive Your Authentic Self:
From Shadow & Trauma Into Somatic Freedom
There are days that we feel exhausted from our habitual ways of performing; feeling disconnected from our body’s aliveness, overthinking and overdoing to cope, overriding our gut feelings in relationships, and using all of the positivity or spiritual jargon that we can muster just to get through. We find ourselves spinning our own mental wheels, and consistently ending up in the same places that we began: tired, hurt, feeling sad. anxious or shameful, and cut off from ourselves and others.
What would it be like to slow down and feel ourselves underneath these ways of being; to drop deeply into the wisdom within our bodies and spirits, and meet ourselves authentically? ✨
6-Month Somatic Program | Live Online | Community Forum
Starts Tuesday, January 20th from 7-9pm EST (Further Tuesday dates below)
Why this Course
When we’ve done all of the pyscho-spiritual work that we can manage, yet still catch ourselves exhibiting the same behaviours when things get hard, where do we go?
Maybe you’ve meditated for years, understood the body-mind connection, self-reflected endlessly, read countless self-help books, years of therapy, and attended numerous workshops on cultivating your own inner well-being…
But you haven’t been able to understand and shift how your body and subconscious bypass your spirit’s deep yearning for freedom.
While we may understand intellectually what traumatic events happened in the past that have led us to feel how we do now, we still can’t think, transcend, achieve, or please our way into a life of authentic aliveness.
These psychic wounds that we haven’t integrated hold us hostage through nervous system dysregulation, postural, mental, emotional, behavioural imbalances, and numerous ways of overriding our bodies and bypassing our own well-being.
However sophisticated, these ways of being get in the way of us realizing our authentic self and vibrant life force that lies underneath.
There is a niggling feeling that you are missing something, because you find yourself:
🎭 Overthinking instead of feeling — analyzing your trauma and related patterns endlessly but it still loops through your mind
🎭 Spiritually bypassing — using “love and light” or high spiritual concepts to avoid feeling anger, grief, or meeting your own shadow
🎭 Perfecting and overdoing — achieving to prove your worth, and staying busy to avoid feeling inadequate
🎭 People-pleasing and shape-shifting — overriding your boundaries to avoid being rejected
🎭 Forcing positivity — toxic “bright-side” thinking that silences yours and other’s inner emotional pain
🎭 Staying in your head — consistently disconnecting from your bodily sensations and trying to think your way out of situations
🎭 Performing and masking — exhausted from being who you think you should be
🎭 Escaping through distraction — numbing, dissociating, avoiding what’s living in your tissues by mentally leaving life
🎭 Desiring to know yourself deeply — relationships still feel surface or never go anywhere, you yearn to connect with awe again
The Shift
Every override, way of hiding and bypassing — from spiritual to overthinking intellectually, to the overdoing perfectionist, and relational overriding — was developed to protect you from overwhelm. Yet they also have us avoid feeling and meeting our life fully. Even coping strategies, that can act as bridges towards gaining nervous system capacity, overtime, can have us fall short of living our authentic self and somatic freedom if we don’t know how to go beyond them.
Sustainable healing requires:
✨ Feeling instead of thinking — moving from analysis to embodied experience
✨ Including instead of transcending — shadow AND light, human AND sacred, body AND mind/spirit
✨ Being instead of doing — worth that isn’t earned through achievement
✨ Authenticity instead of performing — dropping the masks and people-pleasing
✨ Full emotional range instead of forced positivity — anger, grief, joy, all of it
✨ Presence instead of escape — staying with what is, in your body and spirits, now
✨ Integration instead of bypass — weaving ALL parts into wholeness, body, mind and spirit
This is somatic shadow and unmasking work. Trauma integration and revival of our underlying authentic self at its best.

Post-Traumatic Growth & Sacred Transformation

Weaving It All Together Sustainably – Practice & Mastery
- Building resilience through your unique integrative approach that honors body, psyche, and spirit without bypass
- Working skillfully with resistance (yours and others’) as a form of nervous system protection, and recognizing when defenses need respect, not force, to build lasting resilience
- Ethical considerations: maintaining boundaries, navigating power dynamics, cultural humility, and honouring cross-cultural spiritual traditions in service
- Practitioner resilience: preventing burnout, managing vicarious trauma, and recognizing your own bypass patterns that undermine sustainability in helping roles
Embodied practices: Personal resilience practice design, nervous system capacity building, parts check-in, peer practice, ongoing integration

Shadow, Parts, and Presence:
An Embodied Approach to Trauma Integration
For more than 20 years, Carrie Prince, MSW, has walked alongside people as they return to themselves through trauma-informed counseling and embodied practices. In this class, she guides you to explore the intersection of personal and collective shadow.
Through authenticity and curiosity, an unwinding emerges. Spirit begins to reveal what is both astonishing and deeply familiar. Carrie draws from her training in SE, IFS, Hakomi, Brainspotting, TRE, core shamanism, and MBSR.
Her professional background is in mental health counseling, college level teaching, healing circle facilitation, naturopathy, energy work, and many years of teaching meditation and yoga.
Reclaiming the Embodied Self:
A Somatic Journey Through Yoga
Tina Nance, E-RYT 500, Yoga Teacher Trainer, has been guiding people worldwide to reconnect with their body-mind and Spirit through embodied practices for over 30 years. In this work, she creates space for the unraveling of holding patterns that no longer serve. Through heart-centered presence and somatic listening, a deep integration emerges. The body begins to remember what the mind has forgotten.
Tina draws from her extensive training in Somatic Experiencing, IFS, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Nervous System Regulation, alongside her foundations in Yin Yoga, Yoga Therapy, and Embodied Mindfulness.
Her professional background includes founding HELD: School of Embodied Self Integration, long-term teaching and training at The Yoga Barn in Bali, and developing Nervous System Rewire and Embodied Unwinding practices. She holds diplomas in Kinesiology, Shiatsu, Remedial Massage Therapy, Health Sciences, and Vibrational Medicine.

FAQ Section
Yes. Module 1 briefly shares the SE fundamentals that you will need. We also pace the material carefully, and I will share additional video content to people who are new to somatic work. That said, if you’ve never tracked sensations in your body before, be prepared, this will be new territory! There will be added practices and support in the FB group.
I don’t use spiritual language that requires specific beliefs. When I say “sacred” or “spiritual,” I mean connection to something larger than ego, whether you call that Self, soul, nature, interconnection, or nothing at all. The practices are grounded in neuroscience and somatic psychology. If you’re secular and want body-based trauma work, and are open to connection with something larger than yourself, you’ll find what you need here.
Deep work can activate material. That’s different from being triggered or re-traumatized. We work carefully with resources, and staying within your window of tolerance. You’re always in control of how deep you go. That said, if you have a therapist, I recommend staying connected with them during this training or reach out to me for SE sessions throughout the course duration.
All sessions are recorded and available within 24 hours. However, the live experiential component is valuable, you’ll want to attend live when possible. If you know you’ll miss more than 2 sessions, consider waiting for the next cohort in 2027.
If following Module 1 you aren’t satisfied that this course is for you, write me within 7 days and I will return your money to you!
From coping to authenticity
From bypass to integration
From mask to freedom
From fragmented to whole
Come home to your nervous system, body and spirit’s journey, and sustainable vitality.
